FLINT, MICH. (WKZO-AM) -- Criminal charges have been submitted against six state workers in connection to Flint's lead-contaminated water crisis.
They were levied against Department of Environmental Quality employees Liane Shekter Smith, Adam Rosenthal and Patrick Cook, and Nancy Peeler, Corinne Miller and Robert Scott of the Department of Health and Human Services.
All are accused of misconduct in office, and most face willful neglect of duty charges. Conspiracy, evidence tampering and neglect charges were also filed.
"Each of these individuals attempted to bury, to downplay, or to hide information that contradicted their own narrative," Attorney General Bill Schuette said. "And their narrative and their story was there's nothing wrong with Flint water."
Three city and state employees were charged in April.
