NEAR STURGIS MOTORCYCLE RALLY, SD (KELO-AM) Famed motorcycle racer and designer Roland Sands lost control of his motorcycle Sunday night at a Sturgis Motorcycle Rally event and it fell off the stage into the crowd, injuring four people.
A video of the accident posted on YouTube shows Sands riding his bike slowly across the stage. It never stops, but spills into the audience. The announcer quickly calls for emergency help and appeals to the crowd to make room for the injured.
Reportedly, there were some broken bones and other injuries, but nothing life-threatening. What exactly caused the bizarre accident is still not clear. It happened at a packed concert at the Buffalo Chip Campground, near Sturgis South Dakota.
