Shooting Victim Going Home

ANTIGO, Wis. (WSAU) -- The teenager that was shot as he left Antigo High School's prom last Saturday night is going home. Antigo Police Chief Eric Roller issued a statement saying 18-year-old Collin Cooper is being discharged form Aspirus Wausau Hospital and will be recuperating under the care of his family at his residence.

Roller says the family is eager to bring their son home, and encourages everyone to give the family privacy as they attempt to resume some sort of normalcy in their lives.

Cooper was shot in the thigh by former Antigo graduate Jakob Wagner, who used a hunting rifle to ambush students leaving the prom. Cooper's date was also injured in the shooting, and was treated from the local hospital last weekend.

Wagner died after being shot multiple times by an Antigo police officer who was right there when the shooting began.
