Terre Haute, Ind (WIBQ) - A major shake up in the ownership of several Terre Haute radio stations.
Midwest Communications is buying HI-99 WTHI- FM and the intellectual property of “The River” from Indianapolis based Emmis Communications for $4.3 million.
Meanwhile, DLC Media which currently owns WAXI-FM in Rockville will purchase WWVR-FM 105.5 West Terre Haute, WFNB-FM 92.7 and WFNF-AM 1130/99.5 Brazil for $900,000.
Midwest Communications is currently at the FCC ownership limits as it owns The Talk Station WIBQ AM1230 and WPRS AM 1440, 100.7 Mix FM, 985 WBOW, Q102.7, and 95.9 WDKE Duke FM.
With the purchase of HI99, Midwest will sell WDKE to DLC Media to stay under the FCC limits.
