NEW YORK (KFGO) - Sen. Heidi Heitkamp has wrapped up a meeting with President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower in New York City.
Heitkamp says they discussed a wide range of issues that are important to North Dakota and the country. She says issues talked about include the future of coal, human trafficking, the Export-Import Bank and energy. She says the complexities of the Dakota Access Oil Pipeline was another topic.
She won't say whether the possibility of a cabinet appointment was brought up during the meeting. Trump is believed to be considering the democrat for Sec. of Energy or Interior.
