Undated, SD (KELO-AM) Democratic Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders will stump South Dakota on Thursday May 12, becoming only the second candidate to visit the state this presidential season.

Vermont Senator Sanders will hold 'A Future to Believe in' rally at the Sioux Falls Convention Center at the Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls Thursday night at 7:30pm. The rally is free, but seating is first come, first served. Doors open at 5.

Sanders will touch on all his signature issues, ranging from making colleges free to climate change to universal health care.

The Senator will really be on the move in vast South Dakota. Before the Sioux Falls rally, he will visit the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in the morning and hold an afternoon rally in Rapid City.

The outspoken socialist who simply won't give up against Hillary Clinton will attend a community meeting in Pine Ridge at Pine Ridge School at 8;45 am and then will fire up at rally at Memorial Park in Rapid City. Doors open at noon.

The South Dakota State Democratic Party says its excited to welcome Senator Sanders to South Dakota.

" I think he'll find an active, enthusiastic group of progressives ready to fight on behalf of our shared values this fall—open and transparent government that serves the people over special interests, access to quality education and affordable health care," said Suzanne Jones Pranger, Party Executive Director.

Candidate Interest in South Dakota has been extremely sparse for 2016. Republican Ben Carson is the only other presidential hopeful to visit the state. He paid a brief visit to Sioux Falls to attend a fundraiser many months ago before the Trump train knocked him on the tracks.
