Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) Bill Clinton was in Sioux Falls Friday, talking up his wife, Hillary, for President.

"Hello Sioux Falls, hello South Dakota" said the former president to a cheering, highly partisan crowd at The District, a popular music venue near the Empire Mall.

Clinton spoke of his wife's deep experience as First Lady, U.S. Senator and Secretary of State and that even the shots she's been taking must prove something,

"Oh, I know they've been mean to her," Clinton said to much applause, "....I always find that you should respect your adversaries. They do not spend their time attacking people they are not worried about."

The rally also featured speeches by Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether, Democratic U.S. House Candidate, Paula Hawks and former South Dakota Congreswoman Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin.

Clinton was also holding a high-priced fundraiser for the Hillary campaign in Sioux Falls. The tickets started at $500.

South Dakota's June 7 primary has taken on added significance for the Democrats as Mrs. Clinton's stubborn rival, Bernie Sanders refuses to give up and keeps winning primaries. The Clintons don't want that to happen in the Mount Rushmore State. Sanders stumped across South Dakota last week.
